You can use this program to change your StarCraft CD-Key without reinstalling.
To change your StarCraft CD key, please close StarCraft and follow these steps:
1. Open the zip file and run SCKeyChanger.exe.
2. Click “Change CD-Key”.
3. Enter your Name and the new CD-key that you wish to use, and click OK.
4. Select the folder where StarCraft is installed on your computer, which most likely would be “C:\Program Files\Starcraft”, and click OK.
5. Done.
THIS DOES WORK. I USED IT AND IT WORKED. YOU ARE IN VOID 99% OF THEM. BUT WHO CARES? CAN STILL PLAY / TALK IN-GAMES!!!!! GOOD SITE!
how do u use this? help plz.
omg it says that my connection to battle.net is interrupted ccan anyone help me with it
i live in california but i cant go to us.west but us.easy works perfectly fine i dont know why
After i switch the Stardat.mpq it says:
“Starcraft was unable to open a required file. If this problem persists, try uninstalling and reinstalling Starcraft using the program “SETUP.EXE” on the starcraft CD-ROM.
The problem occurred while trying to load a file
curser\arrow.grp
The system cannot find the file specified.”
What do i do?
can someone write step by step how to do guide? PLZ
i wont work i you got a battle net key latter than december1 2008
U guys must be kidding me… i like the CD-Key but not the changer sumthin is fishy in it
i have a feeling that it steals ur real CD-Key and sends it to whoever made the cd-key changer… so if u guys wanna risk ur CD-Key then go ahead
This is bull, it doesnt even work, i cant run starcraft 90% of the time, i cant get on bnet, when i try to enter a single player game, i get some jibberish error (Error # -h7874hudf087adshgy§¥hgh7835¿¤gfui7 ½) etc etc.
This does NOT WORK ANYMORE!!!
Anybody who uses this Key Changer will end up corrupting their starcraft install and wont even be able to play singleplayer!
The new patch changed something with the way the CD Key is stored so this Key changer is out of date.
IF YOU TRY THIS KEY CHANGER IT WILL RUIN YOUR STARCRAFT INSTALL UNLESS YOU BACK UP THE ‘StarDat.mpq’ file before overwriting your existing
Oh Fyi to figure out if it should work or not… Look at the size of the StarDat.mpq file…
If the size of the file is around 64,000 KB (64MB) then its possible it could work.
If the size of the file is around 182 KB… it will NOT work because it is missing cursor/arrow.grp
Before even trying the CD Key changer (Which i strongly advise you not to) Check the size of StarDat.mpq and if its around 64mb then copy & paste it into a safe place incase the key changer f*cks up which is most likley
can anyone help me with starcraft
What does this do? what does it mean by change cd key, why would you want to change the cdkey. I just need a cd key cuz i lost my box, is this gonna help?
@Kevin: This is for changing the cdkey when StarCraft is already installed on your computer… without this, you would have to uninstall StarCraft and then reinstall it to enter a new cdkey.
Now, whenever I try to play on bnet I get the ‘your connection has been interrupted. Please try again later.’ I was just wondering if its because of the cd key I chose or what? I thought I was temp banned but it keeps happening.
shit dont work
Trying to change the key for a sc/bw install on 1.16.1 patch.
Currently not working for me. Doesn’t seem to change the key.
doobix why are you being ignorant. so many people have asked HOW THE FCK U USE IT PROPERLY and u ignore them, i dont know wtf to do with it it just looks like im supposed to type in a cd key off the top of my head
@Jaydon: This program is for you to change a StarCraft CD key that is already installed on your computer to a different CD key that you have. It’s actually quite simple to use.
5. Done.
I have just tested this method and it works 100% for me on StarCraft v1.16.1. I was able to change my CD key to 3333-33333-3333 which I couldn’t go on Battle.net with, then I changed it back to my real CD key and Battle.net worked for me again.
LOL!!!! It turns out, if you have an error, depending on the error, you can play SC with the CD. I got the INSTALL.EXE error, and it just came to me, why can’t I just get the files off the CD. As long as its not pirated xD/
